In Switzerland meeting investors

This week, our CEO, Miguel Fabra, PhD, and Senior Advisor for Investor Relations, Erik Reichmuth, are in Switzerland meeting with investors, family offices, and strategic partners to discuss opportunities in natural capital investing.
At Nature & Capital, we have built a ready-to-invest portfolio of natural capital opportunities exceeding €100 million, representing nearly 30,000 hectares across seven countries in Europe, Latin America, and beyond.
Our role is simple: connecting high-quality natural capital assets with the right long-term investment capital. We provide access to carefully selected off-market opportunities and work closely with investors to align opportunities with their specific objectives, risk appetite, and impact goals.
As interest in natural capital continues to grow among family offices and institutional investors, we are seeing increasing demand for direct exposure to real assets that combine financial resilience with climate and nature outcomes.
In Spain meeting investors
Last week, our CEO, Miguel Fabra, PhD, and Managing Director of Investment Advisory, Luís Unas, met with clients and strategic partners in Madrid, Spain.
We are encouraged by the strong interest that Nature & Capital is receiving from family offices seeking exposure to natural capital investments. Many investors face limited access to traditional forestry and natural capital funds due to minimum investment thresholds that often exceed USD 10 million. Others prefer direct investments, allowing them greater control over asset selection, governance, and exit timing.
The feedback has been remarkably consistent. Investors particularly value the depth of expertise and proven track record of our team across the natural capital sector, our global presence and ability to originate and manage opportunities internationally, and the diversity and quality of our pipeline of forestry and natural capital assets spanning Latin America, Europe, and other regions. These strengths position us to provide investors with unique access to carefully selected opportunities backed by deep sector knowledge and global execution capabilities.

On capital allocation and institutional investors:
• Capital deployment into Africa remains challenging, while Latin America still appears underallocated relative to Europe and the US
• Some pension funds are beginning to target up to 10% allocations to climate-related investments
• Institutional LPs often require minimum ticket sizes of USD 50–100m, pushing impact funds toward larger scale and institutional structures
On natural capital and restoration investing:
• Some leading investors are increasingly approaching nature restoration through an infrastructure investment lens
• Key success factors discussed for restoration projects included legal certainty, operational expertise, and strong community revenue-sharing models
• Carbon offtake agreements and insurance structures are becoming increasingly important tools for de-risking projects
Overall, the summit reinforced our conviction that natural capital — particularly forestry, restoration, and nature-based infrastructure — is steadily moving toward the institutional mainstream.
Impact Investor Global Summit 2026

Some key takeaways from our perspective as a natural capital investment advisor with a strong impact focus:
• Impact investing continues to mature from a niche strategy into a core portfolio diversification tool
• The conversation is no longer “return or impact,” but increasingly “return and impact”
• Climate-related investments represent ~55% of impact allocations, while “Life on Land” still accounts for only ~14%, highlighting the underallocation to nature-based solutions
• Agriculture appeared in several thematic panels, yet forestry remained notably underrepresented despite its strong climate mitigation potential and social impact per USD invested

Strategy meeting in Valencia, Spain
The C-suite of Nature & Capital (Erik Reichmuth, Luís Unas, and Miguel Fabra, PhD) gathered this week in Valencia, Spain for an offsite strategy meeting.
It was a great opportunity to align our vision and strengthen our commitment to scaling the natural capital asset class and accelerating the transition toward a bioeconomy.
Our mission is clear: aligning nature and capital to unlock investment opportunities that deliver competitive, risk-adjusted returns alongside measurable environmental impact, supported by technology-enabled investment platforms.
We are energized and ready for the next phase — advising new investors and existing asset owners, and working alongside an outstanding network of top-tier professionals who support our vision.
Our ambition is bold but achievable: to advise the deployment €1 billion into natural capital assets by 2035, capturing over 30 MtCO₂, by unlocking untapped private capital through accessible, scalable investment structures.

This week, Miguel Fabra, PhD and Zaid Ahmad Nasser, from Nature & Consulting are carrying out a field visit across pine plantations in southern Brazil, alongside leading local forestry professionals.
Brazil stands out as one of the most advanced and dynamic forestry markets worldwide — with nearly 2 million hectares of pine plantations and an outstanding productivity exceeding 30 m³/ha/year. The country combines world-class silvicultural practices, strong industrial capacity, and a growing focus on sustainability and value-added wood products.
Our team has a long-standing track record in the Brazilian forestry sector, with a deep understanding of its markets, main players, and investment dynamics. It’s always inspiring to reconnect with the field, witness the sector’s continuous innovation, and identify new opportunities for responsible investment and sustainable growth.

Field visit across eucalyptus plantations in Uruguay
This week, Nature & Capital is conducting a field visit across eucalyptus plantations in Uruguay, together with one of the country’s top forest managers.
Uruguay stands out as one of the most solid and mature forestry markets in the world — home to three world-scale pulp mills and a rapidly growing solid wood cluster. Its long-standing political and economic stability has created an environment of trust and continuity that investors deeply value.

This week, Nature & Capital is visiting forest restoration areas in Bahia, alongside leading local forestry project developers.
The Atlantic Forest (Mata Atlântica) is one of the world’s most biodiverse ecosystems, providing vital services such as carbon sequestration, water regulation, and soil protection. Yet, only a small fraction remains, facing continued pressure from agriculture, urbanization, and illegal logging.
Our team combines expertise in forest restoration, carbon, and biodiversity, working closely with local communities and partners to optimize processes, improve transparency, and enhance profitability.
By making restoration financially viable, we can attract more private capital to regenerate these unique ecosystems — turning conservation into a lasting investment in nature.

Regional office: Curitiba, Brazil
Happy to be here these days at our office in Curitiba — and even better, we’re sharing the space with great friends and colleagues.
Curitiba is much more than a beautiful and well-organized city. It’s one of Latin America’s leading forestry hubs, home to a vibrant ecosystem of companies, industry players, entrepreneurs, consultants, and institutions dedicated to natural capital. It’s also where several of Nature & Capital team members and collaborators are proudly based, making this a natural home for our operations.
Being here means staying close to talent, innovation, and decades of accumulated knowledge in forestry and sustainability. We’re looking forward to deepening collaborations, building new partnerships, and contributing to the region’s unique ecosystem.
